Camera Jacqueline Bouvier used as the $42.50-per-week reporter and photographer for the Washington Times-Herald. After reluctantly turning down an offer from Vogue to join the magazine's Paris office, she took the job at age 23 as a newspaper photographer. Roving the city with her camera to capture citizens' reactions to issues of the day, she contributed a column titled "Inquiring Camera Girl by Jacqueline Bouvier."
